You will need the following items to obtain a FinCEN ID Number:

  • Full Name
  • Date of Birth
  • Residential Address
  • Photo Identification

Steps to File Your Report

Follow-Along Steps Below:

  1. Go to FinCEN's BOI filing system here: Beneficial Ownership Information Reporting | FinCEN.gov
  2. Click on "Create a FinCEN ID"
  3. Click on "Sign in or create an account with login.gov"
  4. Fill out FinCEN Identification Application
  5. Name
  6. Date of Birth
  7. Residential Address
  8. Photo ID
  9. Submit
  10. Download and save the confirmation of your FinCEN ID Number

You do not need a FinCEN ID Number. It is optional.

Log in to your FinCEN Account the same way you created your FinCEN ID Number and you can update the information.
